SIMPLE AND SLEEK
EVA I is an ideal tool kit for rapid prototyping and reliable comparison of different designs and prototype solutions. Developers can utilize EVA I for the evaluation of their design, without the need to develop counterpart products themselves. A company developing receivers or transmitters for Power Class 0 applications can use the EVA I to evaluate the coupling, losses and operating points of their design. Equally important for research and development, EVA I serves as a dynamic and affordable evaluation tool for the analysis of system operations and benchmark of a receiver or transmitter module and coupling with different designs. EVA I is designed to be simple and sleek, easily connected to a computer or laptop through a USB port, thereby enabling full firsthand evaluation of different designs in a realistic use case scenario. EVA I comes in two stand-alone variants: EVA I BST (Base Station Tester) for testing transmitters and EVA I MDT (Mobile Device Tester) for testing receivers.
EVA I BST
EVA I BST (Base Station Tester) is an evaluation platform for WPT transmitters (PTx) development, designed to support the WPC Qi standard.
The EVA I BST converts the AC input from any connected receiver coil to a DC output. Values are measured and presented in the GUI, through the USB connection to any external laptop. Operating parameters set in the GUI are interpreted by the EVA I BST unit and passed on through the EVA I TPR.

__________________
The EVA I BST is a portable and modular platform that can be expanded with both HW and SW upgrades, purchased separately. The Starter Kit consists of a Control Unit and one TPR (Test Power Receiver), which serve as the PRx coil and placed on top of the PTx Device Under Test (DUT). Additional upgrades of HW include FOD kit and Sniffer probe.
CONTROL UNIT
The main control and processing unit. It contains the logical elements, measurement boards and electronics. When connected to a separate host computer, such as a PC, a powerful and use- friendly GUI enables configuration settings of parameters and use cases to then provide real time data collection and processing of test results.
EVA I TPR
The power transfer coil and the component that is coupled with the device under test (DUT), e.g. the transmitter. Through the EVA I TPR the electromagnetic signal is converted to electrical signals. A variety of TPRs are available, matching all reference designs defined in the Qi specification. The standard connectors also allow for proprietary coils to be connected directly to the EVA I BST unit.
FOREIGN OBJECTS
Consists of 4 reference objects (as defined in Qi specification), positioning frame, spacer and thermo couple cables. Used together with EVA I BST and EVA TPR for measurements related to foreign object detection.
SNIFFER
Thin magnetic antenna connected to the EVA I BST and placed between a PTx and PRx to capture the communication in each phase of the Qi specification.
SOFTWARE
_________________
The state of the art Graphical User Inteface is similar to other nok9 CATS tools (reference test equipment of WPC). Operating and real time measurements are presented to the user both in numerical values and graphical status bars, while the packet log displays communication as sent and intepreted by the tool. Utalizing graphical icons and visual indicators, the GUI provides real-time control over the systems operating parameters, allowing the user to interact with any electronic parameter and setting.
The GUI allows for full control of the tool, acting as a PRx (Qi receiver), while providing the user with live presentation of direct readouts of both communication log and key parameter measurement values.
EVA I BST GUI
Qi Software Upgrade License
Yearly license subscription that enables support for latest WPC Qi specification, as released for EVA I BST. Provides immediate access to any new SW versions released for nok9 EVA I BST, related to current WPC specification versions. Upon release of new SW all new features related to the latest Qi version will be enabled in the GUI.
Subject to separate license agreement.
1.3 UPGRADE
SW upgrade enables measurements and operation according to the WPC Qi v1.3 specification.
SAMSUNG FAST CHARGE
Includes TPR (TPR#PP1A) and SW that enables measurement according to the official proprietary protocol of Samsung Fast Charge.
VISUAL TEST PLAYER
SW upgrade that enables execution of any pre-programmed test cases as created and imported from CATS II BST.
API
SW upgrade that enables control of the EVA I BST Control Unit from remote host, over TCP IP, to initiate commands and retrieve data.
KEY PARAMETER LOG
SW upgrade that enables graphical presentation and export of test results of all key parameters available in EVA I BST GUI (Rectified Voltage, Rectified Current, Operating Frequency, Control Error, Temperature etc.).
MODIFY PACKET CONTENT
SW upgrade that enables modification, at a bit-level, for any available settings and configuration for each packet enabled in GUI.
